No, most patients don’t even feel the needle. Those patients that do report feeling the needle, report only a slight tingling feeling. The diameter of a needle used for auriculotherapy is only a quarter of the size of the diameter of the typical needle used for ear piercings. Needles used for auriculotherapy are also only inserted 1-3 mm into the skin.
